Radar Algorithm Development

mmWave radar can be applied in various applications to improve safety and efficiency. Algorithms are used to cluster and track radar returns over time to identify the movement and activities of equipment and people. The radar information serves as actionable intelligence which can be used for decision-making. To create and tune decision-making algorithms, developers can capture radar data and video frames together to ensure the algorithm performs properly based on the conditions the system encounters. One way to capture data and implement prototypes is to connect radar sensors and a camera to a friendly platform such as the Raspberry Pi. Input data, video and decisions are synchronized so that each frame is matched to the field situation at that exact moment.
