Rochester, NY – Nov. 14, 2017 – The Arrow DragonBoard™ 410c Camera Kit with D3 Engineering’s DesignCore™ Camera Mezzanine Board OV5640 is available now on Arrow.com. The kit enables rapid development of lower power, higher performance embedded vision applications and proof-of-concept prototypes.
The D3 camera mezzanine board gives developers direct MIPI CSI-2 access to camera data on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 410E vision processor. This eliminates the need to decode USB or Ethernet protocols for more realistic evaluation of camera performance.
The mezzanine board has two MIPI CSI-2 connections. Expansion headers provide access to additional Snapdragon processor interfaces including I2C, SPI, and UART. The board conforms to 96Boards Consumer Edition specification.

The DragonBoard™ 410c Camera Kit includes an Arrow DragonBoard™ 410c development board, a D3 Engineering DesignCore™ Camera Mezzanine Board, one autofocus micro camera module with 5MP OmniVision OV5640 CMOS image sensor, a power supply, and Linux demonstration software.
Users can modify hardware and software as needed. D3 Engineering provides design services to assist with application development, including interfacing other image sensors, developing algorithms, and providing a path to production after successful proof of concept.
“This kit helps us get customers going fast, and then through our design services we can customize the system, ruggedize the hardware, add software features, add different cameras, or even do chip-down designs with the Snapdragon and get them to market,” explained Jason Enslin, embedded vision product manager at D3 Engineering.
“For example, a customer wanted to develop a two-way dash camera and needed a prototype quickly,” Enslin said. “We used the DragonBoard 410c Camera Kit, added a second camera module and an enclosure, and were able to give them a demo in less than two weeks.”
