Projects include elements such as embedded Linux, high speed digital interfaces, and quality assurance. As a student, you will find roles that most closely mirror their professional counterparts where you can learn on real project teams and collaborate with many different specialists to grow your skills in a positive environment.
Manufacturing
Opportunities in the fulfillment end of our business deal with the manufacturing and delivery of embedded systems in a high-mix low-volume production environment. As a student, you may find roles in manufacturing and supply chain management that directly work on fulfillment, support component and materials management, product assembly quality, and product estimations.
Sales & Marketing
From the customer’s first look at our business to their first contact in working with us, our sales and marketing opportunities focus on the demand and revenue generation parts of our business. As a student, you may find roles in our Business Development department which focus on projects that assist or work directly alongside these roles to drive incoming interest in our products and services.
Operations
Opportunities in operations ensure that we cultivate a culture of success that allows our teams to operate comfortably and productively. For example, as a student, you may work on our project management team and gain practical experience coordinating a team’s schedule and deliverables.

I was pleasantly surprised by how well D3 Engineering treats their co-op’s. The co-ops are integrated into the team, encouraged to think critically and creatively, and treated like full time employees. I felt welcomed and glad to do challenging work that promotes innovation.”

I did co-op’s at larger companies but I really enjoyed D3 the most because it was a smaller company that allowed me to focus my work mainly on electronics design. At the other companies, I did not get my hands on design work as easily. At D3 I was handed customer work on day one of my co-op and had electronic design work follow shortly after. I finally felt like I was actually using my whole degree in the workplace.”

D3 Engineering provided an opportunity to learn about business development in engineering and gave me the option to build a professional network, talk to full-time employees about their careers, and discover pathways to pursue after my graduation. All of this was achieved while being able to make a measurable positive impact on the company.”

D3 surprised me with the amount of control and trust that they gave me from the start. They hired me for a reason and they gave me the opportunity to use my judgement and my skills not only for the projects that they created, but also on ideas that I had and wanted to work on. Throughout my time with D3, I’ve been consistently surprised with how open and honest they were with me and how much they valued my input and wanted me to succeed.”
