D3 Featured in Vision Systems Design Article - Picking a Camera with Punch

ROCHESTER, NY - (February 21, 2009) - D3 Engineering is featured in Editor Andrew Wilson's article by on "Picking a Camera with Punch". The thrust of the article is that offloadng image-processing tasks to DSPs allows vendors to increase the performance and lower the cost of smart cameras for numerous applications. D3 Engineering, for example, is designing products for its customers based on DaVinci processors. According to Scott Reardon, CEO of D3 Engineering, the company is also extending its line of Camera Developer Kits (CDKs) to support the TI DM643x evaluation module.
