Job Description:Senior Embedded Software Engineer

D3 Engineering is looking for software engineers with a minimum 5 years experience for embedded application development. Our needs are for Embedded Systems/DSP/FPGA engineers who have experience in software design and development. Background in object oriented, embedded operating systems and device drivers desired. Ability to understand algorithms and hardware a plus.

D3 is involved in projects that range from radar and wireless to image processing and motion control. No two projects are ever alike - a new challenge awaits you everyday!

D3 Engineering is an established engineering services company providing DSP hardware, software and algorithm design services to companies around the world in medical, military and industrial applications.

Requirements:

Candidate must understand real-time embedded software: how to solve problems, how to realize software requirements in real-time electronics. Experience in image processing, machine vision, wireless communication, motion control or signal processing topics desired.

Background in system design, processor/architecture selection, designing high-speed DSP/FPGA based hardware systems. Ability to manage projects/engineers and mentor junior engineers.

Candidate must have expert knowledge of signal processing and all aspects of product development (hardware, software, algorithms).

The applicant must be familiar with:

• Embedded Real Time oiperating Systems
• Object Oriented software
• Modern programming styles
• Capability to write physical layer driver and application software
• Signal Processing techniques, applications & algorithms
• State of the art compilers
• Optimization techniques
• Peripherals
• DSP manufacturers

Must have a history of working on team projects from concept through production ready software.

Use of standard programming environments, tools, techniques, and methodologies is a must.

Experience:

• DSP Platforms (TI, Analog Devices, Motorola, etc.)
• Matlab
• Simulink
• Simulation tools experience
• System and component level hardware design
• Embedded System Software

Must have a history of successful implementation of their designs into realtime systems.

Additional consideration will be given to candidates with expert knowledge of signal processing and all aspects of product development (hardware, software, algorithms).

Experience in wireless, image processing, machine vision, and radar systems also a plus.
